However, care should be taken when instructing a drone roof survey, because a CAA Approved drone pilot will not necessarily be a qualified surveyor.
This can mean that you end up with some nice footage, but no professional advice.

However, we do not recommend that anybody has a drone roof survey in isolation, as it’s our experience that regardless of the quality of the drone images, nothing beats getting up close and personal.
Industrial and commercial roofs are a lot larger than domestic premises, which means that defects are easier to miss.
By utilising a drone together with either direct roof access (where safe to do so), or via cherry pickers, is the most thorough way to survey a roof.
In short, you get what you pay for. If all you require is a general overview of the aesthetic appearance of your roof, then a drone roof survey might be all you need.
This is rarely the case though, because most people only ever require a drone roof survey because they are experiencing problems with the roof and as we have already discussed, a drone pilot might not even know what to look for!
